Cemetery Service Project
Troop 465 proudly participates in two annual service projects at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. In addition to community service, these events are opportunities for both youth and adults to learn about and appreciate the service and sacrifices of those who have given their lives in service of our country, as well as the rich history of the Canton area.
For scouts & families interested in attending this Saturday's Memorial Day service project at the Georgia National Cemetery -
but there seems to be some conflicting information about start times.
I have some information of scout units arriving at 8:00am and placing
flags at 9:00am. (http://www.atbsa.org/national-cemetery-programs.html)
If you have the time, I would suggest you make a full morning of it. Arrive early, walk the grounds, spend some time practicing "Reverence", showing scout spirit, and reflecting on the importance of the Memorial Day holiday.
is a family event, so please stay with your scout. Troop families that
do attend can plan to meet in the assembly area when the program begins
The cemetery is located at: 1080 Veterans Cemetery Road Canton, GA 30114
